Anyone Can Get Help In Centre County With Just One Call Now, with one toll-free call, everyone in Centre County can get free, confidential information 24 hours a day, seven days a week on human services issues, emotional problems, alcohol or drug problems or any crisis situatuon. We can help with just about any problem.  



We can provide you information about human services and/or will provide direction to a source for help or additional information. We can provide short-term counseling over the phone for a range of emotional issues, and make referrals for longer-term counseling. We can also answer questions and provide referrals for drug and alcohol treatment.

Whether you're calling about yourself or someone you care about, a CAN HELP trained professional will counsel you, give you advice or directly connect you with someone who can help. Q: What kinds of problems can you help me with?
A: We can make referrals to appropriate human services agencies, offer phone counseling and immediate help in crisis situations, make referrals for drug and alcohol programs, help you find a counselor for one-to-one counseling for family or emotional problems and much more.

Q: When I call, how do I know the person I talk to can give me the information I need?
A:CAN HELP has a professional, caring staff that is trained in all areas of human services. Each counselor also has access to a modern computer system that can give information quickly.

Q: Sometimes people need answers after business hours, on weekends and on a holiday. Can you help then?
A:We're here 24 hours a day, even on holidays and weekends.

Q: What is the cost for the service?
A:There is no charge for any of the services provided by CAN HELP. CAN HELP is a community partnership between the Centre County Board of Commissioners, The Centre County United Way and Centre County Community Foundation, PA Office of Drug and Alcohol Programs and DPW Office of Mental Health, created to help the citizens of Centre County.
