The PHP Team

The Tyrone Hospital Partial Hospitalization Program is a short term, treatment program for adults 18 years and older.

The person does require inpatient therapeutic care, but is experiencing behavioral or emotional difficulties due to the loss of a loved one, declining health, retirement, stress, or other reasons.  In addition, PHP offers ideal transitional treatment as needed upon discharge from inpatient care.

The PHP is covered by most insurance carriers, including Medicare.

Referrals & Admissions

The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) welcomes referrals from physicians, psychologists, hospitals, home health care agencies, long term care facilities, clergy, family, mental health agencies as well as self-referrals. 

A complete assessment will be provided at no charge at a convenient location for the person referred.

Admission Criteria

To enroll in the PHP, a person must meet one or more of the following criteria:

• He/she displays behavior of an acute nature which interferes with their daily lives
• A person must be able to manage him/herself well enough in order to benefit from an active treatment program, despite the degree of his/her emotional impairment
• The individual does not require 24 hour total assistance and, while not actively engaged in the program, he/she has an adequate external support system
• The person is not actively suicidal or homicidal
• Outpatient treatment has been ineffective or the person is not capable of benefitting from such treatment
• Treatment is necessary to prevent inpatient care

Clinical  treatment is provided by a multi-disciplinary team of caring and experienced specialists that includes:

• Medical Director/Psychiatrist
• Program Director
• Consulting Physician
• Licensed Social Worker
• Certifies Recreational Therapist
• Clinical Registered Nurse
• Intake/Assessment Coordinator
• Administrative Assistant
• Other Consulting Professionals

Each person receives an individualized treatment plan that reflects his/her goals and objectives.  Referring professionals and/or family members are encouraged to participate in the planning process.
